Little Field
After the underlying perceptions of interest for littlefield labs (day 52), one of the initial steps we took was to recognize the bottleneck in the creation chain. This was controlled by taking a gander at the pace of usage of the three machines and the quantity of employments in the line hanging tight for these machines. It was immediately confirmed that the machine 1 was our bottleneck, as it was the main machine with 100% usage and abundance number of employments in the line. This implied machine 1 couldn't stay aware of the approaching interest and did not have the best possible capacity. We realized that we expected to build limit and the choice was made to buy another machine 1. Following the choice to buy a machine, our center moved to the stock level and the reorder point. Clearly the old reorder point was not going to stay aware of the approaching interest level, particularly considering the multi day lead time. Our underlying believing was to set the reorder point to a level where the stock would have adequate degree of wellbeing stock to abstain from loading out before the following group of request came. Also we required decide the amount of stock to arrange, making a point to consider the requesting cost of $1000 also. One of our underlying objective for day 52 was to ensure our framework was away from any bottleneck and to have adequate degree of stock to last us until day 73. This system was partially because of the way that we didn't have a lot of time to break down and appropriately figure the future interest (at first gathering occurred at 12 PM because of the long drive), yet in addition to permit us to have more information about the approaching demand. To decide the best possible degree of request amount and reorder point, we did a basic anticipating of approaching interest by utilizing a basic direct relapse investigation of watched interest for the initial 50 days. Utilizing this information we discovered that the reorder point must be expan ded to 45 and the request amount ought to be set at 250 units. At the point when we met the next day, our center was to conjecture the interest out to day 120, since we had the information on request expanding and leveling out after day 120.Using the exceed expectations spreadsheet and taking a gander at the straight relapse line, we verified that the inexact degree of interest on day 120 would be around 18 units for each day. This number was basic to our general system going ahead. Since we realized the interest would average around 18 units per day, we needed to have enough limit in the machines to deal with the interest. We figured to ascertain the interest limit of every machine by taking a gander at the degree of usage of every machine on day 1, when the absolute first request arrived.Using the level of use and the real number of employment coming in just because, we had the option to compute the limit of each machine with relative precision. It was resolved that machine 1 had the limit of 4. 5 occupations for every day, machine 2 with limit of 12. 5 employments for every day, and machine 3 with limit of 12jobs every day. This implied with the end goal for us to suit the normal degree of interest, we expected to have five units of Machine 1, two units of Machine 2, and two units of Machine 3.We needed to have five units of Machine 1 since we would not like to have only 4 and have 100% use, causing a bottleneck circumstance. We likewise needed to make sense of the ideal reorder point and request amount utilizing the anticipated normal interest of 18 occupations for each day. We set the quantity of reorder point to 95 units, representing the multi day lead period and the degree of security stock we needed to have. At that point we decided the request amount ought to be set at 500 packs, which would be adequate degree of stock to keep going for full day. Finally, with the progressions previously made to improve our ability and creation lead time, we set out t o expand our overall revenue for each activity coming in. We concurred that agreement three would be generally beneficial for us since we anticipated out lead time to be cut under a large portion of a day, and would not surpass one day with sensible variance of interest. Likewise, calculating that we needed to move out any employments prepared for conclusive handling, we exchanged the need of Machine 2 to offer need to stage 4.

Essay on difficulties of ADHD treatment.
ADHD and Procrastination Clinical and non-clinical methods to treat ADHD has gathered momentum ever since, the syndrome of this disorder began to surface alarmingly in children. ADHD is mostly associated with emotional and behavioral disorders and because of this, professionals find it difficult to diagnose. It can therefore be said that ADHD is more than the inability to focus; it is a self-regulatory disorder. Such symptoms as inattentiveness and impulsiveness occur across a range of childhood problems and can be misleading. We see that most people behave in a conscientious manner, because of which these people are well organized, efficient and responsible. Understanding conscientious behavior is relatively simple. Take for example people working in offices or those who run their own business. They are very calculative and do things only after evaluating and understanding a situation. They have a relatively high level of conscientiousness. These people are in complete contrast to those who have ADHD. These people are easy-going and careless in their attitude. It is because of their low level of conscientiousness that they tend to procrastinate. These ADHD affected people see too many choices and try and take everything that comes their way without filtering their choices that ultimately leads to ambiguity. Because they face too many possibilities at the same time, they lack focus and end up doing nothing. What could have led to the development of ADHD? Itââ¬â¢s quite complicated to pinpoint the exact cause for such disorders developing. But scientific research has revealed that toxic chemicals that are found in food, carpeting and fl ooring, cleaning agents and even toothpastes can cause mental disorders. Thereââ¬â¢s a spectrum of possibilities that cause ADHD. Commonly, it is said to start at an early age and if left unattended, could cause serious problems in adult life. Several governmental and non-governmental organizations and groups have attempted to develop techniques to counter and heal children affected by ADHD. Be it clinical or non-clinical, results drawn from various research has shown the positive and negative sides in clinical and non-clinical treatment. ADHD or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Deficiency is a major cause for worry among children in their early years of growth. If this is not treated early, this could cause severe damage to that personââ¬â¢s mental condition in his/her adulthood. Just as the name indicates, ââ¬Å"children with ADHD are prone to hyperactivity. They are restless, and are constant movers. They find it difficult to remain static or concentrate in any particular situation. They squirm and fidget in their seats or roam around the room. Or they may wiggle their feet, touch everything, or noisily tap their pencil. Being impulsive, these children are unable to control their emotions or actions and are likely to blurt out inappropriate comments, display their emotions without restraint, and act discontentedly without understanding the consequences of their outburst. Their hyperactivity is such that they can be at times unmanageable and cause hurt to others around them unintentionally. This is the reason why such children should be handled with care and understandingâ⬠(NIHM, 2006). Due to the complexity of this disorder, it has been observed that in the event of suspected ADHD, diagnosis is entrusted to qualified professionals with training in ADHD, such as child psychiatrists, psychologists, developmental/behavioral pediatricians, behavioral neurologists, and clinical social workers. After a systematic evaluation of the symptoms, and ruling out other possible reasons for the childââ¬â¢s behavior, the specialist check the childââ¬â¢s school and medical records, interact with the affected childââ¬â¢s teachers and parents, before they are asked to fill out a behavior rating scale for the child. Only after completion of the positive evaluation will these experts consider diagnosis. The best way forward is to make them focus on one particular activity and ensure that they complete it before moving on to another set of activities. Donââ¬â¢t try to enforce anything on these people. In most cases, they would find the activity boring as they are made to fol low a certain activity and not many as they would ideally do. People with ADD/ADHD require constant stimulation. There have been cases reported where people with such disorders have been said to be physically uncomfortable when forced to pay attention to a ââ¬Ëboringââ¬â¢ task. Even employees working in an organization, when asked to continuously work on a particular job, find it boring and tend to lose interest. In order to stimulate them, managers ensure that they go through a rotational program where every employee takes on a different job periodically so that boredom doesnââ¬â¢t creep in. Therefore, even for those with ADD/ADHD, to stimulate them, there has to be a structured procrastination, wherein, a task can be done using time crunch pressure/creativity which ultimately does ensure that the task at hand is completed successfully. The focus should be on completing a task that is given. Other than using any form of pressure, organize the activity in such a way that it ensures fun and stimulates the mind to the job in hand. Stimulant medicines can improve attention and reduces hyperactivity and impulsiveness, but this is not a long-drawn solution as it may not help an affected person to communicate or interact socially with other people. It is important to understand the correct level of medication required by a person affected by ADHD. Dosage varies in children and adults and the reaction of children and adolescents to medication should be monitored carefully and the dosage reviewed regularly, to identify the best level for a childâ⬠(Chacko et al., 2005). Just as hard it may seem to understand the complexity of ADHD; some parents do see signs of inattentiveness, hyperactivity, and impulsivity in their children much before they even go to school. Signs such as, losing interest in playing or watching TV, and walking around without direction are all too common among children affected by ADHD. But because children mature at different ages and have diverse personality, temperament, and energy levels, its hard to tell whether a child is normal or is ADD/ADHD-affected. This is because parents tend to take the behavior of their children as part of the growing up process and neglect cases which need immediate attention. Such behavior is often passed off as being immature or unusually exuberant. Conclusion ADHD being a complex clinical disorder of the brain, not much has been witnessed in the treatment and research in this field. Most treatment has been spontaneous and in accordance with standard procedures. These practices need to change, and a proper approach must be mandated to cure and relieve conditions of the mind. Though many practices are in vogue, no set pattern is followed. While interventions such as psychotherapy, behavioral therapy and social skills training are available and are said to be the safe options to treat ADHD, many practitioners continue to prefer medication as the most preferred option, as it offers faster relief and control. The idea of introducing structured procrastination to stimulate these ADD/ADHD affected individuals is a safe option and reduces the chances of any side effect that medicines could have on them. Also, the idea of prioritizing work and activities will give more focus and ensure that these people gradually enhance their conscientiousness le vel Works Cited Chacko A. et al. The Fifth Amendment For Theu.s. Constitution Essay
The sixth amendment to the U.S constitution guarantees a defendant in a criminal prosecution the right to a speedy, public, and impartial trial by jury. Once it has determined that the trial will be by jury, the next step in the criminal proceeding is the selection of the jurors. During this process possible jurors receive a summons in the mall ordering them to appear in court at a specified time and date the people who are summoned comprise the venire (the prospective jurors for cases). Voir dire Latin term meaning to speak the truth, this is an examination conducted by the courts or by the attorneys of a potential juror or witness to determine if they would be proficient or qualified for services. Jurorsââ¬â¢ questionnaires reveals information disqualifying them from jury service is only the first step in the jury selection process. Typical questions relate to whether prospective jurors know the defendant, the attorneys, or any of the witnesses, whether they have read or heard a bout the case in the media, and whether they have racial, nationality, or gender biases. Effective voir dire is getting the prospective jurors to tell the court or attorneys what they need to know( Ferdico, J 2005). During the voir dire process, the way jurors are removed is part logic and part legal strategy. The judge determines that a potential juror is not likely to be fair to both sides in the case, than the juror will be excused for cause. There are two possible ways prospective jurors may be
How did the 2 films help you understand these issues Essay Example For Students
How did the 2 films help you understand these issues? Essay Explore who is most to blame for the deaths of Mercutio and Tybalt? Do you think the princes judgement was fair? How did the 2 films help you understand these issues? This scene is the pivoting point of the entire play. After the scene the entire play changes mood from happiness of love to tragedy. Much of what happens in this scene also seems to foretell what will happen in following scenes. At the start of this scene, we see Benvolio and Mercutio arguing. Benvolio is trying to draw Mercutio away, for he thinks that if they meet the Capulets, we shall not scape a brawl. Mercutio is shown at this point to be in a bad tempered mood. He begins to make things up to annoy Benvolio, for example that thou hast quarrelled with a man for coughing in the street because he hath wakened thy dog that hath lain in the sun. This show s Mercutios bad temper and hints that Mercutio might be to blame for his own death as he seems in a bad mood. This is also hinted at when Benvolio warns that the Capulets are coming. Mercutio fallows this by saying By my heel I care not. This shows that he seems to be looking for a fight. But then again, it also could be seen that as he is not of either house, he shouldnt have anything to fear from the Capulets. But his next line defiantly shows that he is looking for a fight as he issues a challenge to Tybalt with the words: And but one word with one of us? Couple it with something make it a word and a blow. Tybalts arrival in the line before shows that he is trying to be civil. Gentlemen, good den, a word with one of you he says, but Mercutios reply puts him off guard as he follows this by saying that he would accept his challenge if Mercutio gave him occasion. This would seem to hint that he is not to blame for any of the deaths, but then you find out that he is just trying to find Romeo as he says, Mercutio, thou consortest with Romeo. This shows that he just following up the challenge he issued to Romeo earlier on in the play following Romeos appearance at the party. This shows that Tybalt came out looking for a fight with Romeo, so he is just as much to blame as Mercutio. Yet still, after all of this, Mercutio is still taunting Tybalt showing his foul mood. Even after Benvolio tries to get them to settle the argument to avoid the princes punishments, Mercutio still replies aggressively, saying I will not budge for no mans pleasure, I. It is at this point in the play that Romeo enters, after being married to Juliet. Tybalt chooses to ignore Mercutios comments at this point as Romeo enters saying, Well, peace be with you, sir, here comes my man. This does show that although Tybalt did come looking for a fight with Romeo, he does not want to start one with Mercutio. Despite Mercutios continuing insults, Tybalt walks straight towards Romeo and challenges him saying thou art a villain. This challenge shows once again that Tybalt came looking for a fight. This would hint that he is slightly to blame, but Romeo dismisses the challenge, tactfully reasoning with Tybalt, even after Tybalts second challenge following this one, saying that he loves the name Capulet as dearly as his own. We know that this is because he is now married to Juliet, but Tybalt does not know this. Mercutios rage takes the better of him at this point saying O calm, dishonourable, vile submission. This in the context of the play is read that Mercutio believes that Romeo is being a coward by backing out and thus challenges Tybalt. This leads to much bartering and eventually the fight between Mercutio and Tybalt. Mercutio set this challenge though so it he is to blame for this fight, which could probably have been avoided, though Shakespeare does not give a hint to what would have happened if Mercutio hadnt joined in. That is left to the director to decide. During the fight though, Romeo tries to be a pacifist and comes between them. Tybalt then thrusts Mercutio underneath Romeos arm. The script seems to try to show that Tybalt did this purposefully, thus the death of Mercutio following this would be his fault. Mercutios death would seem to be the fault of Tybalt (as he actually killed him) and Mercutio for starting the fight. Yet Shakespeares plays usually have an added touch of fate or supernatural, and this script is very similar also. It is a big coincidence that Mercutio was caught in a bad mood in exactly the same time as Tybalt was caught looking for a fight with Romeo, at exactly the time following Rome o be married into the Capulets (though they have no idea!). All these issues are built up before this scene all clash together to give the feeling of fortune and fate being the main culprit of the death of Mercutio. The drama continues EssayAfter the exit of Romeo in the script Zeffirelli inserts act 3 scene 2 lines 1-8 which involves Juliet finding out that Romeo has killed Tybalt. This is to show the consequences of what has happened and how it affects Juliet before the Prices judgement comes to banish. This helps keep the order of her feelings so that the viewer does not get confused as quickly. Her feelings would change at anger at Romeo for killing her cousin to hurt that Romeo was banished. The officer is omitted from the scene because Zeffirelli feels that he is not needed to get the points across. The same reason is given for why some of Benvolio and the Princes speech is also omitted. The Baz Luhrmann version is a much more modern version of the play on the other hand. It chops the script about much more to get the feel and issues forward that the director wanted. A lot more of the lines are cut to shorten this part and the modern setting means that the fighting is more with guns then with swords. The Capulets in this version are brought forwards as the more evil gang, with Baz Luhrmann dressing them all in black and having them scaring away children in this scene when they arrive. Though Mercutio does have a jokey attitude at the start, when Tybalt says Mercutio, thou consortest with Romeo Baz Luhrmann makes the tension rise much quicker. He does not keep the jokey attitude. Music is brought in to add to this tension and the two of them square up to fight each other even before Romeo arrives. At Romeos arrival, Tybalts challenge causes Mercutio and Petruchio to prepare the other twos guns for a duel. After Romeos second refusal of the challenge, Baz Luhrmann has Tybalt attack Romeo, using repetition of many of the lines to add to the tension. To also add to this tension, Baz Luhrmann has the weather reflecting what is happening in the film with a storm sweeping in to darken the skies a bit. Baz Luhrmann makes it look like Mercutio just joins the fight to protect Romeo, referring the line O clam, dishonourable, vile submission! to Tybalt rather then Romeo. Romeo eventually stops Mercutio trying to stop him by holding him back. Tybalt then tries to kill Romeo with a shard of glass from the fight and as Mercutio pushes Romeo out of the way, Mercutio gets stabbed. Tybalt is made to look as if he didnt mean to kill Mercutio as he is dragged off by the other Capulets. The Continuing storm is still adding tension in the background at this point. This storm and the silence around Mercutios lines of A Plague aboth your houses seems to hint that Baz Luhrmann is trying to get across the supernatural and fate aspect of the play. When Mercutio dies Act 3, scene 2 lines 20-30 is inserted, the lines where Juliet is waiting for Romeo to come for her. The serenity of this scene is used as a reminder of Juliets involvement in all this and as a total contrast of the next part which uses a high-speed car crash to start off the fight between Romeo and Tybalt. The continuing storm still adds tension and just as Tybalt is killed (via gun shots from Romeo) a flash of Juliets face appears on screen. The final thunderclap sounds and Romeo drops his gun to show that Romeo has understood what he has just done. Shakespeare originally wrote this scene many years ago skilfully writing it to keep the way it could be played open. I think he was trying to focus on fate as the culprit for the death of Tybalt and Mercutio, as he does often in a lot of his plays although this scene could be read differently. This is shown in the many different versions of the text which have been performed, whether film or theatre, as they try to help the audience focus on their ideas about the different themes of the text.

Segregation And Discrimination In Texas Essays - Reconstruction Era
Segregation And Discrimination In Texas Segregation and Discrimination that effected Black Texans and Mexican Americans in Texas Historians have described the early twentieth century as the nadir of race relations in this country. Ironically, populism, which tried to create a biracial political coalition, helped to encourage segregation in the south. Attempting to prevent any coalition of blacks and poor white farmers, establishment Democratic politicians frequently demonstrated their Negrophobia by accusing blacks of having inherently inferior racial characteristics and warning that such innate flaws threatened society. There began a move to make African Americans outsiders, governed by political leaders for whom they could not vote and segregated by law and custom into a separate society. The movement largely succeeded. In rural areas of Texas, most blacks did not vote, as they became victims of all white primaries. As black Texans migrated to cities, however, they acquired some voting power. Excluded from political participation, black Texans watched as white officials segregated public facilities. The state legislature in 1910 and 1911 ordained that railroad stations must have separate waiting rooms and separate water fountains and restrooms existed at public facilities. It was virtually impossible for the black citizens to stay at major hotels; to eat in better restaurants, to attend most cultural or other entertainment events unless segregated, inferior seating sections were provided. Vigilante style violence as well as law enforcement agencies upheld the separate and unequal society. Texas ranked third nationally in lynching, as mobs killed over 100 blacks between 1900 and 1910. In 1916, race riots erupted periodically throughout the period. White prejudice included animosity toward black troops in the U.S. Army. Brownville whites objected to the stationing of the all black Twenty fifth Infantry at Fort Brown. They charged that the troops raided the city in 1906 in protest of discriminatory practices. Later evidence demonstrated the unfairness of the charges, but by that time President Theodore Roosevelt had dishonorably discharged 160 of the troops. Black soldiers resentment of segregation flamed into a clash with white citizens in 1917 in Houston. Without recourse to political power, blacks in Texas, as in the rest of the nation, often chose both accommodation and resistance to segregation. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) founded a chapter in 1912 in Houston, and by 1930 it had organized thirty others in the state. A Texas committee on interracial violence organized in1928 to fight extra legal acts against blacks. By then both the Dallas Morning news and the San Antonio Express had condemned lynchings. The Association of Southern Women for the Prevention of Lynching, led by Jessie Daniel Ames of Texas, mobilized strong moral opposition to violence during the 1930s. By then, most church organizations and Congressman Maury Maverick of San Antonio, who later supported a federal antilynching law, were on record as opposing racial violence. In 1942 last lynching in Texas took place. The majority of blacks stayed in rural areas, where they worked as tenants and farm laborers. As cotton prices fell, their chances to acquire their own farms decreased. Some turned to the Farmer's Improvement Society, organized by R.L. Smith in the 1890s. A Colored Farmers Educational and Cooperative Union was founded in Dallas in 1905. Other organizations established farmers' institutes and local cooperative associations. These organizations all spoke of accommodation and self help to counteract poverty and segregation. But rural Texans remained poor, and black poverty exceeded that of most whites. Marcus Garvey, a Jamaican and the organizer of the Universal Negro Association, advocated black pride, a back-to-Africa movement, and the development of black enterprises. His attempt to found a local chapter in Dallas in 1922 met with opposition, as did the efforts of Sam, from many black leaders and middle-class African Americans. The expanding economy of the 1920s did open new employment opportunities for black males as porters and chauffeurs and in building trades and oil refining. Except as janitors and laborers, the public sector hired few African Americans. The segregated communities produced a small black bourgeoisie. Ministers and teachers composed the largest occupational group of black professionals in 1930. The number of black undertakers went from 1 in 1900 to 198 in 1929, and they joined the black bourgeoisie of the period. Most black Texans lacked financial

How to Edit Quotes in an Essay
How to Edit Quotes in an Essay How to Edit Quotes in an Essay Quoting sources is vital when writing an essay. But what if the quote doesnââ¬â¢t fit the surrounding text? Or what if itââ¬â¢s too long? The good news is you can change a quote if you need to. But you also need to highlight your edits clearly in the text. Check out our guide below, then, to find out how to edit quotes in academic writing. Omitting Text from Quotations with Ellipses If a quote is too long, it may interrupt the flow of your writing. For instance: Smith (2007, p. 24) describes blancmange as ââ¬Å"a sweet dessert that is generally made with milk or cream and sugar, although I also once had one that contained none of these ingredients, that has been thickened with gelatin, corn starch or Irish moss.â⬠The middle part of this quote isnââ¬â¢t necessary for describing blancmange, so we might want to leave it out. To do this, we would use an ellipsis to show where we had cut something from the original source: Smith (2007, p. 24) describes blancmange as ââ¬Å"a sweet dessert that is generally made with milk or cream and sugarâ⬠¦that has been thickened with gelatin, corn starch or Irish moss.â⬠We now have the text we wanted to quote, but we havenââ¬â¢t had to include the middle bit. This makes it clearer and more succinct. Keep in mind, too, that you can write an ellipsis in several ways, including: In square brackets [â⬠¦] Spaced (. . .) or unspaced (â⬠¦) With a space before and after the ellipsis or without spaces As such, always check your style guide for advice on how to write ellipses. If you do not have a style guide, simply apply one type of ellipsis consistently. Changing or Adding Words in Quotations You can edit quotes by changing or adding words in order to: Integrate quoted text into your own writing Clarify the meaning of something Correct an error in the original text If you do any of these, use square brackets to show where you have changed the original text. For example, imagine we found the following in a book: Blancmange is delicious. The first time I ate it, I was in love. We might then want to quote the second sentence. But without the first sentence, it wouldnââ¬â¢t be clear what the ââ¬Å"itâ⬠refers to. As such, we could edit the second sentence so that it works by itself: Smith (2007, p. 31) says, ââ¬Å"The first time I ate [blancmange], I was in love.â⬠It is now clear what Smith is saying without having to include the first sentence, but the reader can also see where we have changed the quote. Marking Errors in Quotations Finally, what if you donââ¬â¢t want to change an error in a quote? Or what if it contains something that looks like an error, such as an old-fashioned spelling? In cases like these, you can use the Latin term ââ¬Å"sicâ⬠to show that youââ¬â¢ve kept something non-standard from the original text. This is short for sic erat scriptum, which translates to ââ¬Å"thus was it written.â⬠Usually, to use ââ¬Å"sicâ⬠like this, you would place it in square brackets: His writings were riddled with errors due to his addiction, which he described as ââ¬Å"a terrible but delishus [sic] shameâ⬠(Smith 2017, p. 2). The reader will then know that the spelling ââ¬Å"delishusâ⬠comes from the quoted text, so it is not a transcription error. Unless you have a good reason for preserving an error, though, it is usually better to fix it and put the correction in square brackets instead. Summary: How to Edit Quotes in an Essay If you need to edit quotes in your writing, keep the following in mind: Use an ellipsis to indicate omissions in the text. Check your style guide for how to format ellipses (e.g., in brackets or not, spaced or unspaced). Mark additions or changes by placing the edited text in square brackets. Use the term ââ¬Å"[Sic]â⬠to show that youââ¬â¢ve duplicated an error from a source. This will ensure the reader doesnââ¬â¢t think youââ¬â¢ve made a mistake yourself. Different style guides may vary on these rules, so make sure to check yours if you have one. And donââ¬â¢t forget to have your work proofread.
